The Author

Neill Wood, William’s Dad has trouble sleeping! He struggles to switch off at night – this is when he dreamed up the idea of Pyjamaman – a story about William, his son who turns into a superhero in his sleep having read his favourite bedtime story. Neill knows the value of a good night’s sleep but in the first couple of years of being a new Dad he would often find himself awake at night, his head full of ideas that he wanted to bring to life. Once the book was written, it was time to get some illustrations drawn up to bring the characters in the book to life. So Neill turned to his mother, Patricia, William’s Grandma, to create the illustrations for the book. Once the book was complete, Neill penned a song to complete the Pyjamaman storyline. The book is now available to purchase through Amazon.

Our Inspiration

William is a ball of energy. Loveable, kind, thoughtful and so many more positive attributes. His love for reading, drawing and books in general inspired us to create Pyjamaman. He brings out a playful side in all of us that allows us to be creative whilst having fun with him and sister Olivia. We love playing, reading, singing and dancing together!

The Illustrator

William’s Grandma and Neill’s mother, Patricia Wood, is the illustrator of the book. Having a talent for art and bringing images to life through drawing, Patricia is able to visualise and create the illustrations we see in the book. Illustrations for children are the biggest part of a children’s book and without them, the words would not have the same meaning. William is lucky to have such a talented Grandma who has been able to create a magic memory and share it with the world. The first thing that William usually asks of his Grandma when visiting is to draw, create or sketch something for him to colour! It’s not surprising that’s not something he asks of his Dad who would be able to draw nothing other than a stick man!
